وطن في رجل نظيف لن يتكرر
I would like to express my profound gratitude for this website and its wealth of information. As the son of a staunch Chehabist (my late father Dr Malek Basbous) I am an avid and vivid admirer of President Chehab and the unique achievements of the Chehabist period.

حافظ على إستقلالية وكرامة الوطن . ( حادثة الخيمة الشهيرة مع عبد الناصر ) .
رجل الانفتاح والمساوة .
ألف رحمة لروح الامير الطاهرة .
الرحمة لأمير الجمهورية ومؤسسها الفعلي والوحيد.
اتأسف لان والديّ لم يحمسانني على قراءة التاريخ الذي حكم فيه الرئيس شهاب. وبعد، كم نحن بحاجة الى خامة ك خامة الشهاب ، علماً ونزاهةً… يكفيه الآن مجد السماء حيث لا خائنون ولا متذاكون …
كم كان بعيد النظر هذا الرجل العظيم من بلادي! كم كان بعيداً عن تفكير السياسيين في لبنان الذين يهمهم أولاً وأخيراً مصالحهم وأرباحهم على إختلاف أنواعها… بينما هو لم يفكر الى في مصلحة الوطن، مصلحة المواطن، وبناء مؤسسات ودولة ووطن للأجيال القادمة وللمستقبل….

أجمل أيام لبنان، أيام عهده. المكتب الثاني كان حام للوطن بوجه التدخلات الخارجية…. أما اليوم، فالساحة مفتوحة على مصرعَيها…
رئيس للجمهورية ناصع البياض، يبقى في القلب الى الأبد. شكراً للأمير اللواء الرئيس. الآن عرف الجميع قيمتك!
It is truly sad that such a great person is under-appreciated. Fouad Chehab has provided us with the foundations of building a strong, prosperous country, yet we choose to stick by traditions and ignore the foundations he has laid down before us. We need another president such as Fouad Chehab and we need him fast.
A real servant for his country and to his people. especially the future generations. much higher as a personn than all other confessional 'leaders'… at least there was one exception!
Paix et honneurs aux hommes de volonte, d integrite et de patriotisme. Nous n etions pas prets ـ suivre cet homme dans sa profonde et juste vision de notre pays et son avenir, nous l avons paye et le payons toujours.
Esperant que la terre qui ta vu naitre nous redonne des hommes comme toi.

Un President pour Tous. Un grand dans l'histoire moderne du Liban. Un homme d'Etat et un honnete homme. Tout pour le Liban et rien pour lui-meme.
